Foodmaker receives Finnebrogue’s first Supplier Award for Sustainable Transformation

Finnebrogue is celebrating the suppliers leading the way in sustainability, innovation and responsible practices throughout our supply chain.

At Finnebrogue, we believe that real sustainability happens through partnership — by working closely with our suppliers to drive meaningful, measurable change. That’s why, in 2025, we proudly introduced our Supplier Awards — created to recognise suppliers who are making bold strides towards a more responsible future.

We’re delighted to announce that the very first recipient of Sustainable Transformation Award is Foodmaker (Scobie & Junor), who have demonstrated outstanding progress in their sustainability journey over the past 12 months. Maureen Erdi, Finnbrogue’s Head of Procurement had the pleasure of presenting the award to Dave Oakes, Sales Director at Foodmaker, in recognition of the leadership and commitment shown by his team. Also pictured is Paul Andrews, Finnebrogue’s Head of Sustainability who has been instrumental in supporting and guiding our suppliers.

Commenting on Foodmaker’s journey, Paul Andrews, Head of Sustainability said:

“Foodmaker’s transformation has been impressive and inspiring. In just a year, they have successfully baselined their Scope 1 and 2 emissions, set reduction targets, and taken action to switch to green electricity and green gas — bringing them within touching distance of running a carbon neutral production site.”

Their journey is also shining example of the power of collaboration. As part of our wider supplier engagement process, members of the Foodmaker team joined a carbon emissions workshop led by our sustainability team. That session helped spark real momentum inside their business — proving that shared learning can catalyse real-world action.

Foodmaker’s forward-thinking approach doesn’t stop there. They are now developing an internal tool to calculate emissions linked to upstream transportation — a move that strengthens traceability and cuts climate impact across the supply chain.

Commenting on the achievement, Maureen Erdi, Head of Procurement at Finnebrogue, said:
“We congratulate Dave and the entire Foodmaker team for their bold, inspiring progress — and thank you for being a true partner on this journey. We look forward to continuing this partnership and supporting their ongoing journey toward carbon neutrality.

“At Finnebrogue, we’re proud to work alongside suppliers who don’t just talk about change — they lead it.”
