Finnebrogue is thrilled to announce its support of Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign by turning the UK’s favourite bacon brand pink this October. The limited-edition pink packs of Naked Bacon Unsmoked 200g and Naked Bacon Smoked 200g will be available on shelves from 19th September to 31st October across 414 Asda stores.
For a six-week period, Finnebrogue will not only be donning its nitrite-free bacon in pink packaging but also reducing the price from £2.55 to £2.00 per pack. Moreover, 30p from each pack sold will be donated directly to the Tickled Pink charity, supporting Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!.
Commenting on the announcement, John Cowen, Asda Account Director at Finnebrogue, said:
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Asda on this initiative. Breast cancer affects so many lives, and by turning our Naked Bacon ‘made without nitrites’ pink and supporting the Tickled Pink campaign, we hope to raise awareness and contribute to the fantasticYes th work these charities do.
“Naked Bacon is made without nitrites, a compound which the World Health Organisation has linked to some cancers. By offering a healthier bacon alternative and supporting this campaign, we aim to make a positive impact both on our customers’ health and on the efforts to fight breast cancer.”
The pink Naked Bacon products will be featured prominently on chilled end of aisle shelves in 414 stores alongside other Tickled Pink lines. Additionally, in over 200 stores, customers will find on-shelf promotion barkers highlighting this special initiative, encouraging more shoppers to support the cause by purchasing these limited-edition products.
Finnebrogue’s commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness Month goes beyond their products. Throughout October, the company will engage in internal awareness events and activities, with employees proudly showing their support by donning pink hair nets and pink hi-vis vest.
Additionally, counselling will be provided on-site to support colleagues who are seeking guidance or emotional support. This initiative aims to create an open and supportive environment, encouraging conversations around breast cancer awareness and mental well-being within the workplace.
To kick off the campaign, Finnebrogue’s Food Truck will be visiting Asda House in Leeds at the beginning of October, to serve the team Naked bacon baps for breakfast. This event serves as an opportunity for Finnebrogue and Asda to come together and champion the cause.
Together, let’s make a difference this October!
