What
is Finnebrogue Oisin? Oisín
is the Gaelic word for 'young deer'. In the
case of Finnebrogue Venison this is 9 and 21
months of age and specially selected from our
own free roaming herd of red deer.
What is the Secret of
the Best Venison in the World?
The true secret of subtle tasting, 'melt in
your mouth' meat is selecting only pure bred
red deer between 9 and 21 months living in a
stress free environment. Here at Finnebrogue
we have achieved this through the dedication
of managing and processing our own produce onsite.
What are Finnebrogue Deer?
Our deer are all Red Deer, roaming freely in
over 600 acres of parkland on a Non-GM, natural
diet. The new season of Spring Oisín
is available each year from the 17th March and
is superb for Spring and Summer dishes.
What
Makes Finnebrogue Venison Perfect?
Our own stringent quality controls, designed
by us in conjunction with the Irish Food Quality
Commission ensure consistency. Selecting only
deer under 21 months guarantees tenderness and
flavour.
Within the factory our own butchers produce
consistent joint sizes making Finnebrogue Venison
easy to prepare with little or no trimming required.
In addition to only natural foods, no antibiotics
or growth hormones are fed to the deer allowing
them to grow and mature naturally.
