M&S Celebrates 50 Years in Northern Ireland

On the 7th September Marks & Spencer celebrates its 50th anniversary in Northern Ireland. To mark the special milestone M&S has been hosting a series of events at the Lisburn and Belfast stores in
the lead up to the big day.

This month the M&S Lisburn store asked us to supply some delicious samples of the British Sausage Week 2016 ‘golden sausage award winner’, the Great British Banger, for their Sparks customer breakfast event. We were also asked to attend the special event and showcase our current product range. The breakfast was a roaring success with over 50 of the store’s elite Sparks customers attending the celebratory event.

On arrival guests were greeted with a glass of buck’s fizz and introduced to the store’s management team. Once everyone was settled at their tables they were served a full Ulster Fry, with ingredients produced by local M&S suppliers – Finnebrogue Artisan supplied Great British Bangers; Skea Eggs the delicious fried eggs; Hovis with their soda and potato bread and Karro Food Group the marvellous bacon.

Once breakfast was consumed, Sparks customers made their way over to us (the suppliers) in small groups to discuss the food. The customers were all very animated and discussed their love for Marks & Spencer’s produce and although prone to purchasing the products labelled ‘Irish’ they were not aware just how many of the overall products were made right on their doorstep. A few of the guests mentioned their love of the new Summer sizzler pack and advised that from now on they would be buying the Great British Bangers for their cooked breakfast occasions!
